Kenji Yamamoto

アルバイトで働いた雑貨屋で家具の作り方に興味を持ち、20歳の時に親戚の紹介で木工所に勤務を始めたのがキャリアのスタート。親方の元で木工職人としての技術を磨きながら、会社組織として変化していく中で業務の内容も店舗案件などへシフト。ディレクションと共に空間やそこに置かれるプロダクトを生み出す現在のスタイルが確立されて、自身が経営する扇町工芸をスタート。その経験を活かし、谷川木工芸では家具部門担当として、デザイナーとの仕事のディレクションを行う。

He started his career as a furniture craftsman, getting interested in the field while working in a furniture shop as a part-time job and working in a furniture company when he was 20. While developing his technical skills in furniture, his task was changed to shop interior design. He made his style by directing a space design first, then a product next, and started his space design company, Ogimachi Kougei, in Kagawa. Using the experience, he is in charge of a director of furniture in Tanikawa Mokkougei as well.
